Zora Warren Submits Nomination Papers

The School Committee candidate is ready to campaign.

North Andover's local election is starting to take shape, and another candidate has turned in nomination papers for School Committee.

Zora Warren is running for the seat, currently held by Chris Allen. Allen has announced that she will not run again.

"My motivation is really just the success of our schools," Warren said. She currently has a daughter in second grade and another in kindergarten.

Warren, a North Andover resident for the past 10 years, will bring an extensive educational resume to the race. She's a former teacher, having taught social studiesat R.J. Grey Junior High School in Acton and Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School in Groton.

More recently, Warren has worked for Sun Associates in North Chelmsford, evaluating curriculum and education programs for students of all ages focusing on American History Grants.

"My role was to help the projects really solidify and shape their goals and identifying benchmarks to meet their goals," Warren said.

She graduated from the University of Illinois and Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Warren said that if elected she plans to focus on strengthening a centralized curriculum for the schools; enhancing communication between administration leadership, schools and parents; and better definining district and school goals.

So far, Warren will face off against Mark Mezzina for the seat.
