At the Red Sox rookie camp, Denny played alongside many future Red Sox greats.
Following his experience with the Red Sox, he continued his involvement with baseball, both as a player in the semi-pro North Shore Twilight League and as a coach for youth baseball for over 30 years.
Denny was also an outstanding candlepin bowler as well as a softball player. Softball was vastly big in his life, and he led his team “Clam Shell” to a state championship in 1968. In addition to playing softball, he was also a longtime league commissioner as well as a sponsor.
In his early years, Denny worked on the Peabody Municipal Light Plant until taking over the family business of Price Floor Sanding and Refinishing in 1970. He continued operating the business with his two sons until his retirement in 2011.
