Fire Department Extinguishes Kitchen Fire

Just before 5 p.m. on Monday, emergency personnel responded to 7 Glenway Avenue for reports of a kitchen fire.

When crews arrived, they found heavy fire concentrated in the kitchen, located in the back of the home and extending into the second floor of the wood framed home.

Additional fire units were called to the scene at first because the fire had extended into the attic area. With additional units at the scene, the fire was under control in 20 minutes, crews said.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, police said.
