Man Reportedly Selling Burial Plots

Sunday, Aug. 21
- At 4:27 p.m. a resident complained about a moped on the bike path on Peabody Road. Police did not locate the moped driver.
- At 4:38 p.m., police received a call from at the regarding shoplifting.
- At 4:53 p.m. a resident of Carell Road told police there was a male party on the street trying to sell burial plots.
- At 6:24 p.m. police were told there was a group of males hanging around outside of while Mass was going on. The parties were waiting for a ride, police said.
- A resident of Ledgewood Way reported her apartment was broken into. The resident said a white male entered through the screen door and took a purse while people were home.
- At 8:11 p.m. an injured seagull was reported in Carroll Savage Park.
- At 9:05 p.m. police arrested Edward T. Getchell, 28, 8 Crowninshield St., Peabody, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.

- At 6:55 a.m. police conducted a routine check of the and found that at 3:10 a.m. the ground water level pump light in the control room activated during a period of heavy rain.
- At 11:05 p.m. an off duty Malden Police officer called Peabody Police to alert them his wallet had been stolen and the credit card used at Spring Hill Suites. The clerk at the hotel believed the person who used the card was still sleeping in the room. Lynnfield Police, who took the original larceny report, went to the hotel. James Quinn, 51, 14 Pheasant Ave., Plymouth, was charged with receiving a stolen credit card, improper use of a credit card under $250 and receiving stolen property under $250. A female with Quinn will be summonsed as an accessory to the crime.
- At 2:07 p.m. a resident of Russell Street said their neighbor's dogs had been barking "for hours." Police alerted Animal Control.
