Opossum Runs Into Main Street Business
The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Peabody Police log:
Wednesday, Nov. 2
- At 2:07 p.m. police responded to a call about a group of youths climbing on a tree branch on James Street. Police cleared the group.
- A 45-year-old Marblehead woman was issued a summons for shoplifting from at 2:28 p.m.
- Police arrested Nicholas O. Meserve, 19, homeless, Danvers, on charges of possession of class D with intent to distribute, drug possession in a school zone, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at 3 p.m. on Lynn Street.
- At 3:46 p.m. a Butternut Avenue resident reported a person in camouflauge, carrying a bow. Police did not locate the person.
- A cat was found in a crate in a parking lot on Collins Street at 5:45 p.m. The cat was brought to Animal Control.
- At 6:15 p.m. Peabody Police assisted in an attempt to serve a Federal warrant on Salem Street. The person was not there and neighbors said they hadn't seen the person in weeks.
- Police arrested Luis D. Rodriguez, 28, 102 Main St. and charged him with disorderly conduct at 8:49 p.m. on Main Street.

- A large tree branch was reported down on Harris Street at 5:30 a.m.
- At 9:10 a.m. police responded to a minor car accident on Andover Street.
- At 10:59 a.m. a resident reported her daughter was bitten by a dog in the shin on Birchwood Avenue. A citation and quarantine will be served to the dog's owner.
- At 11:27 a.m. a resident reported a sick opossum on Main Street. When police arrived, the animal took off running and appeared in good health. The opossum then ran into a nearby business. Police advised the owner to hire an exterminator.
