Peabody Route 1 Reopens After Medflight Responds To Crash
A serious crash reportedly involving a pedestrian strike on Route 1 in Peabody closed the highway in both directions.

PEABODY, MA — A Peabody crash reportedly involving a pedestrian strike forced the closure of Route 1 in both directions near the intersection with Route 95 Thursday afternoon.
The state Department of Transportation said at about 3 p.m. that the crash involved serious injuries and the road was closed while a Medflight responded. WFXT-TV reported that the crash involved a pedestrian being hit and injured.

The ramp from Route 95 southbound to Route 1 southbound was also closed shortly after 3.
MassDOT said at about 3:30 that the road and ramp had reopened — but advised drivers to expect residual delays during the afternoon commute.
