Peabody Downtown Parking Meters Free For February
Mayor Ted Bettencourt said parking at the new meters will be complimentary until they go live on March 4.
PEABODY, MA — Downtown Peabody visitors will get a month's reprieve from some parking fees with newly installed meters not set to go live until March 4.
Mayor Ted Bettencourt said on Thursday that the new meters have been installed but that the city will not be charging to park at them for another five weeks.
The meters will read "free parking" for the month of February and the first three days of March.
