Peabody Greenway Extension Study To Distrupt Traffic Pattern

MassDOT said the right turn lane along the Essex Center Drive underpass will be closed starting on Nov. 2.

PEABODY, MA — A new traffic pattern will be in place along the Essex Center Drive underpass in Peabody starting next week as a pilot study program begins to determine viable design options for the Peabody Independence Greenway Project.

The state Department of Transportation said the right turn lane closure along the underpass southbound will begin on Nov. 2 and should last about a week. All vehicles will travel within a temporary new pattern at the intersection of the Essex Center Drive underpass at Northshore Road.

Signs, traffic control devices, detours and law enforcement details will be used to guide drivers through or around the work zones.
