Peabody Highway Lane Closure Into Evening Commute After Crash

UPDATE: 6 p.m.

PEABODY, MA — Highway delays were expected through the evening commute in the Peabody stretch of Route 95 and Route 1 after the state Department of Transportation said a portion of the acceleration for the ramp from I-95 to Route 1 northbound was closed because of an earlier crash.

MassDOT said the closure is near mile marker 61 in Peabody. The ramp remains open to traffic.

MassDOT earlier reported a truck crash on Route 1 North at about 1 p.m.

"This closure is expected to continue through the evening commute," MassDOT said at about 3 p.m.

MassDOT updated the scene at about 5 p.m. saying that the scene had cleared and all lanes were open.

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
