Swan on Lowell Street Causes Concern

The following is an excerpt from the Peabody Police Department:
Friday, Nov. 18
- At 2:10 p.m. Animal Control checked on a swan on Lowell Street. It was determined the swan was fine and was just sunning itself.
- At 2:55 p.m. police responded to a car accident on Northshore Road. One car was towed.
- Police received a call about youths boxing on Bartholomew Street at 3 p.m. The youths were dispersed.
- A 22-year-old Rockport woman was issued a summons for shoplifting from TJ Maxx at 340 p.m.
- At 4:28 p.m. a man reported he was assaulted while having dental work done at a Newbury Street dentist. The incident was documented.
- A 30-year-old Peabody man was issued a summons for driving without a license, failure to have an inspection sticker and a light violation at 5:09 p.m.
- At 6:11 p.m. police arrested Bethann Wright, 48, 50 Columbia St., Malden, and charged her with driving after license suspension, failure to have vehicle inspected and lights violation. A 51-year-old man from Malden was issued a summons for allowing improper operation and not having vehicle inspected.
- At 7:15 p.m. police again received calls about the swan on Lowell Street. Police said nothing could be done until morning.
- A 17-year-old Peabody man was issued a summons for leaving the scene of property damage on Jacobs Street at 8 p.m.
- A 17-year-old Revere man was issued a summons for shoplifting from at 9 p.m.
- At 9:38 p.m. police received a call that the swan may be injured. Police moved the swan to behind the police station.
- James M. Maggiano, 29, 4 Dix St., Revere was arrested at 9:46 p.m. and charged with driving after license was revoked.
- At 11:42 p.m. police received a call about a car into a guardrail on Centennial Drive. A 20-year-old Wilmington man was issued a summons for operating in violation of a license restriction.

- At 12:55 a.m. kids were reportedly riding scooters up and down Daniel Ter.
- Joseph Dealmeida, 24, 8 Donegal Rd., Peabody, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, a warrant, having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and marked lanes violation.
- At 1:32 a.m. police arrested Nicholas M. Tannas, 28, 7 Sachem Rd., Peabody and charged him with driving while under the influence of alcohol (second offense).
- At 6:32 a.m. swaztikas and "KKK" was found in graffiti on
- At 8:13 a.m. Tannin Corp. reported the building had been broken into and things moved outside but nothing appeared to have been taken.
- At 9:33 a.m. a patron of Workout World reported her car window smashed and purse taken.
- At 2:40 p.m., a 27-year-old Lynn woman was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license.
- At 4:40 p.m. police arrested Stephen P. Brennan, 58, 14 Gardner St., and charged him with larceny over $250, and possession of B, C and E drugs. The arrest was made at
- At 4:45 p.m. Christine King, 44, 30E Blaney Ave., was arrested and charged with shoplifting (second offense) at J.C. Penney. Pauline Hubbard, 42, 76 Floyd St., Everett was arrested and charged with larceny over $250.
- At 7:19 p.m. juvenile were detained for shoplifting at Sears.
- At 9:04 p.m. Luciano J. Lopez, 42 , 77 Jefferson Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a warrant and also charged with equipment violation and driving without a license. A 36-year-old Lynn woman was summonsed for allowing improper operation of a vehicle.
Sunday, Nov. 20
- At 10:41 a.m. police moved along a male looking in parked car windows on Paleologos Street.
- At 12:24 p.m. a brother and sister came into the station to report they had been assaulted with a baseball bat. A Beverly woman will be summonsed.
- At 1:02 p.m. a shoplifter was detailed at J.C. Penney.
