Tractor-Trailer Crash Causes Hours-Long Peabody Route 128 Ramp Closure

PEABODY, MA — A crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer closed the Route 128 southbound onramp from Centennial Drive and Forest Street in Peabody for hours late Tuesday morning into the afternoon.

State police said at about 1:30 p.m. that there were minor injuries in the crash and that the ramp was expected to be shut down until about 3 p.m.

The crash was first reported at about 11:30 a.m. As of about 12:20 p.m., the right travel lane was also closed in the area with traffic jammed back to Endicott Street in Danvers.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
