Meet Your Farmers at the Plymouth Farmers' Market
One of the coolest things about farmers' markets is being able to meet the people who grow and make the food they sell.
The Lawton Family Farm and Foxboro Cheese sell their fresh and aged cheeses at the Plymouth Farmers' Market.
The farm's fromage blanc, or "white cheese," is a soft, creamy cheese similar to cream cheese. It's spreadable and excellent for cooking. Foxboro cheese offers fromage blanc in several flavors including chive, lemon honey, and tomato basil. It's excellent as a spread, mixed with fruit or vegetables, mixed in salads, eggs, and Italian dishes.
Foxboro Cheese's Asiago raw milk cheese is aged 60 days in the farm's cheese cave before it's sold. Asiago is a nutty, buttery, and meltable cheese. The farm makes it in 100 gallon batches, hand stirring it and then molding it into wheels.
