Peter Pan Bus Catches Fire On Route 3 In Plymouth
One lane of traffic is now open after heavy traffic delays blocked Route 3 southbound in Plymouth for miles.
PLYMOUTH, MA — Police are investigating after a Peter Pan bus caught fire on Route 3 Friday morning.
The sole occupant of the bus, the driver, was evacuated just after 10:30 a.m. and did not have any injuries, the Plymouth Police Department said.
The fire was reported extinguished by 12 p.m., with a towing company set to pick up the burned bus, police posted to Twitter.

Firefighters said the fire was in the engine compartment of the bus, caused by a fuel leak.
A traffic advisory was issued by police, telling drivers to avoid Route 3 southbound from exits 7 to 3 while crews worked to extinguish the fire.

Exit 7 of Route 3 southbound was momentarily closed while the firefighters worked to put out the fire, and get the bus towed.
Another bus is scheduled to pick up the passengers and bring them to their location.
