Plymouth Couple Drugged, Raped Woman: Police

Wareham police said Michael Botelho and Stephania Cyr, of Plymouth, drugged and raped a woman at a motel.

PLYMOUTH, MA — A Plymouth couple were arrested and charged with drugging and raping a woman earlier this month, police announced Tuesday. Michael Botelho, 39, and Stephania Cyr, 30, were charged with aggravated rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse and selling liquor to a person under the age of 21. Police said the rape happened at a Wareham motel.

The victim, who is under the age of 21, told police she first encountered the couple online and agreed to meet up at a Plymouth park. The trio then drove to the Rosewood Motel in Plymouth.

"Events transpired in the motel room, including drinking and drug use that affected (the victim's) control of the situation and led to the sexual assault committed by the couple," Wareham police said in a statement. "In an unconscious state, the female victim was transported back to Plymouth and placed into her vehicle during ... frigid temperatures."
