Plymouth Man Arrested In Gun, Drug Bust: Police

Police said Joshua Silva, of Plymouth, was found with suboxone and a .38-caliber gun.

FALL RIVER, MA — A Plymouth man with a long rap sheet was arrested Sunday in Fall River after police said they found him with a gun and drugs. Joshua Silva, 42, was charged with a host of crimes.

Massachusetts State Police said a trooper on patrol encounter Silva's disabled Pontiac Grand Arm on Route 24 in Fall River at about 3:30 a.m.

"The driver of the vehicle, identified as JOSHUA J. SILVA, 42, of Plymouth was found to have seven outstanding warrants for his arrest from previous offenses," police said in a statement.

A search turned up a loaded .38-caliber revolver and suboxone strips, police said.

Silva was charged with possession of a gun and ammunition with a license (subsequent offense), improper storage of a firearm, a firearm violation after being charged with at least 3 violent/drug crimes, and drug possession (subsequent offense).
