Plymouth Man Charged with Fifth OUI

A 54-year-old Plymouth man faces his fifth OUI charge after crashing his car on Bourne Road and leaving it Thursday morning.

A Plymouth man has been arrested for a fifth drunken driving offense and cocaine possession after leaving the scene of a crash early Thursday morning.

Plymouth Police Captain John Rogers said a motor vehicle accident occured on Bourne Road at around 3:20 a.m., Thursday. When police arrived at the scene they found a vehicle had gone off the road and struck a utility pole, but there was no one inside.

Police tracked the vehicle’s registration to Walter Silvia, 54, of Plymouth, who was found at his Bourne Road home not far from the accident scene. Capt. Rogers says Silvia appeared intoxicated but uninjured. Silvia was arrested and police found a small amount cocaine on his person.

Silvia was held on bail and arraigned in Plymouth District Court on Thursday on charges of operating under the influence (his fifth such offense), leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and possession of a class B substance.
