The following are obituaries for Plymouth residents or those with Plymouth ties for the week of May 20.

Janice Marie (Vieu) Whiting, of Barnstable, formerly of Florida and Plymouth, died at home May 23 at the age of 64. The beloved wife of the late Robert Whiting, she is survived by her children Robert Whiting of NH, Scott Dickson of Plymouth, Shawn Dickson of Hyannis, Ricky Whiting of Hull, Tracy Wheelden of Westfield, Stacy Kivlin of Plymouth and Lisa Joyce of Barnstable. She also leaves her brother Donald Vieu of Carver, her sisters Sandy Elwell of FL; Bonnie Still of FL and Robin Ryde of NC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Neil Vieu and the grandmother of the late Kevin Dickson.

Janice was born in Boston and lived most of her life in Plymouth. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in FL and enjoyed bingo, cooking and especially spending time with her family. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St (Rt 3A), N. Plymouth on Wednesday May 29th from 5 to 8 PM. Michelle Steele Kender passed away May 20 after bravely battling cancer. She leaves her beloved husband James L. Kender of Plymouth. She also leaves her beloved son David Michael Gerasin, his wife Elisa and grandson Tristan and granddaughter, Neve, of Kittery, Maine. From the time David was a baby until her death, she always told him he was her son and her sun. She is also survived by her stepson Michael, his wife Sara and two granddaughters, Kayla and Siera of Gilmanton, New Hampshire.

A memorial service was be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Road, (Manomet), Plymouth, MA Friday May 24 at 11 a.m. where family and friends are welcome. Burial will be private Instead of flowers, please send a donation in her name to The Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich Street, Plymouth, MA 02360.
