Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra Celebrates Conductor's 20th Anniversary

Conductor Steven Karidoyanes will begin his 20th season leading the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra will open its 98th season with "Celebrating 20!" a concert recognizing the 20th anniversary of conductor Steven Karidoyanes.

By hitting the 20 year milestone, Karidoyanes becomes the longest serving conductor in the Phil's history.

The opening night concert at Memorial Hall, 83 Court Street/Route 3A, Plymouth, will feature music from  John Williams, Demitrius Spaneas, Shostakovich, Gershwin and Respighi.

Demetrius Spaneas, an acclaimed composer and performer, who is also Karidoyanes' cousin, will performs his own "Three Dialogues" for saxophone and orchestra during "Celebrating 20."

The music will start at 8 p.m. on Oct. 5, but Steven Karidoyanes will hold a pre-concert talk at 7.
