Popular Witch Dancers to Perform at Plymouth Haunts & Hops

Fresh from triumphant performances at Chepachet’s Scarecrow Festival and Jamestown’s Fright Night, the Southern New England Witch Dance Troupe will perform at the Hometown Haunts & Hops Horror Convention, hosted by Plymouth’s Mayflower Brewery on Saturday, October 28.

The SNE Witch Dancers emerged onto the event circuit in 2022 performing the original German Wolfshäger Hexenbruts’ ‘Shake Your Bacon’ dance, which caused a global sensation in 2016. Unlike other witch dance groups that sprouted as a result, the SNE Witch Dancers expanded their repertoire to include two more German Hexenbruits’ dances and several of their own original choreography. Now regularly igniting audiences around New England with their colourful costumes and infectious energy, the SNE Witch Dance Troupe is heading to Plymouth for one of their last performances of the season.

Artistic director Bernie Courtney, who co-founded the Troupe with former dance associate, Jennifer Fava, is intrigued by the Haunts & Hops event.

“Performing at a brewery is a unique opportunity for us but more than that, it sounds like a very cool event. There’ll be horror-themed vendors, spooky activities and a costume competition. And naturally, we’re all about costumes!”

Among ‘hair-raising’ and ‘spine-tingling’ activities the event promises is a ‘padded cell’ photo booth. Courtney isn’t sure she’ll have time to use that but she is confident her Troupe will deliver their billed ‘captivating’ performance.
