On Sunday, June 8, the Quincy Pride Committee started early to set up rainbow balloons and tents on Quincy’s Pageant Field at Blacks Creek. Their goal was to accommodate hundreds of families and friends from Quincy and beyond for a day of festivities, food, and entertainment, all to draw attention to equality, diversity, and inclusivity.

This marked the 8th season of Quincy Pride in "The City of Presidents." The Quincy Pride Committee, coordinated by Quincy City Councilman Richard Ash and his hard-working Pride Staff, tirelessly worked to bring a huge venue to all who attended and enjoyed a day in the sun. Their dedication made this day a wonderful success. Truly an uplifting gathering of friendships and love was in the air from 12 noon till 5 PM, overlooking Blacks Creek and the Atlantic Ocean.

Pageant Field was packed with tents filled with sponsors and vendors, offering attendees opportunities to shop, browse, and get lots of helpful information, from shopping to health. Food trucks were a big draw, with lines all day long for everything from barbecue to pizza, beverages, and ice cream treats. These trucks included:

Blacks Creek BBQ: Owner Lorenzo delighted many barbecue lovers with ribs, pulled pork, cornbread, and more.
Aahhh Roma LLC: Their wood-fired, freshly made individual pizzas with any desired toppings had long lines. Watching them hand-toss and construct each pizza was truly "pizza heaven!"
To wash down their food choices, attendees moved to Break Rock Brewing Company for beverages. Dessert was just a stone's throw away with SMILES by the MILES.

Then came the entertainment part of Pride. Councilman Richard Ash announced the day's talent on a massive stage with rows of chairs on the field grass for all. To get the party started, three well-known Provincetown Drag Queens lip-synched to several popular songs, sending the audience wild with joy.

Next, BOOTY VORTEX, a truly talented disco band and singers, wowed the crowd with songs from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Their horn section was amazing!

Then, Quincy’s own son, singer, and entertainer, “TORRENCE,” performed on stage with his own music and songs, to the delight of his fans and attendees. Truly a star! His voice and choreography, along with his band, dancers, and lavish costumes, made everyone stand up and dance in front of the stage.

We must not forget that Quincy Pride Scholarships were presented by Richard Ash to two deserving graduates from Quincy High School and North Quincy High School. The Pastoral Staff of Quincy Church of the Presidents also received an award.

Children were also a big part of the festivities, with balloons, an obstacle bouncy course, giveaways, and more. Parents with children and carriages were happy to explore the field and all its activities.

Kudos to the City of Quincy officials and city workers who worked so very hard to make this day a big success! Many even attended, including Mayor Koch!

A heartfelt THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ATTENDED TO MAKE THE CITY OF QUINCY'S CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION ONCE AGAIN A HUGE SUCCESS FOR PRIDE 2025!
