The Spire Center Announces 'SpireWeen' Classic Horror Film Series

This Halloween season, classic horror films return to the big screen at The Spire Center with three cult classics you can't miss.

This spooky season, The Spire Center for Performing Arts is getting into the Halloween spirit with a new film series, SpireWeen, which will feature a countdown of classic horror films leading up to October 31. The series will bring three iconic horror films to the big screen, including Nosferatu, Night of the Living Dead, and House on Haunted Hill.

Beginning on Wednesday, October 15, and continuing through October 29, SpireWeen will present one terrifying film each week. According to Dot McDonough, Director of Marketing and Operations, the series is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween.

“There’s no better way to get into the Halloween spirit than with these timeless classics shown on the big screen,” McDonough said. “SpireWeen brings together the chills, the atmosphere, and the thrill of horror movies, making October at the Spire Center truly unforgettable.”

The SpireWeen Lineup

Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. | Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922)
A cornerstone of German Expressionist cinema and one of the earliest vampire films, Nosferatu tells the eerie tale of Count Orlok and his interest in both a new residence—and his real estate agent’s wife.

The film stars Max Schreck, Gustav von Wangenheim, and Greta Schröder.
Wednesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. | Night of the Living Dead (1968)
George A. Romero’s cult classic redefined the zombie genre forever. The film follows a group of strangers who must survive the night in a remote farmhouse as the undead descend in terrifying numbers. The cast includes Duane Jones, Judith O'Dea, and Marilyn Eastman.
Wednesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. | House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Directed by the legendary William Castle, this horror favorite follows five guests locked overnight in a haunted mansion, where they’ll each earn $10,000—if they survive. The film stars horror icon Vincent Price, along with Carol Ohmart and Richard Long.
