MIddle School Students Produce Newspaper

Check out the middle school's new newspaper.

students produce their own newspaper called the North Reading Middle School Spectrum. Editor-in-Chief Jason Glenn started the paper last year and was joined by four members. This year, 15 students work together to publish the paper.

Glenn said, "As a club, I'm really proud of how much we've grown. In the club's first year, there were only four members, and now we have around 10-15. There was a middle school paper years ago, while I was still in elementary school, but for whatever reason it was disbanded and under a new name we started over."

Their February issue was published last week, and included and article on No Name-Calling Week, the Geography Bee, Valentine's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and more.

Each month they feature an advice column called Dear Ms. Problems. Students are encouraged to email their questions to missproblemsnrmsspectrum@gmail.com. Students send questions about school, family, relationships, or anything else they are concerned with. The newspaper club chooses one question per issue to send to a child psychologist in Wisconsin. The psychologist answers the question and her response is published.
