Romney Easily Wins North Reading

North Reading Republicans backed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Tuesday's presidential primary.

Romney, who easily won Massachusetts, also received the vast majorty of Republican votes in North Reading. Romney received 1167 votes. Ron Paul came in second with 120 votes, Rick Santorum received 108 votes and Newt Gingrich got 57 votes.

With no presidential race, not many Democrats cast ballots at on Tuesday. Two-hundred and twenty-six voters cast ballots for President Barack Obama.

Slightly more than 17 percent of registered voters participated in Tuesday's election.
