Parks and Recreation Scavenger Hunt
Residents participated in a Parks and Recreation scavenger hunt last week.
North Reading Recreation held a scavenger hunt over vacation week. Families spent the week logging onto the Recreation Web site for clues and then racing to various North Reading Parks to find hidden letters.
At the end of the week families needed to unscramble the letters they found to answer our question posted along with Friday’s clues. Families came pouring into our Recreation Department the minute we opened to be one of the first three families to complete the hunt and win family prize packs.
Our first place winning family was the Beane family. Lionel and Spencer were in the office the minute we opened to claim first prize. Their dad told us there were days that the family had plans but they still went out at night with flashlights to retrieve their letters!

Second place came in shortly after when the Irving/Deuterio family arrived. Brian and Hailey and their mom Lea who had to leave work early to bring the kids in raced in with their answer just beating our third place winners by a minute!
Third place went to the McNeil Family. Eddie, Joe and mom Jennifer. The whole family jumped up and down in excitement when they realized they made it for third place.

Several families poured in after the three winners with their answers. No one was a loser, all families enjoyed fresh carnival popcorn and hot cocoa just for participating. Each family that came in told us how much fun they had participating in this free family event all week long.
