Reading's Coronavirus Case Count Nears 300

Coronavirus update: there have been 30 deaths attributed to the coronavirus in Reading.

READING, MA – The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Reading is nearing 300, according to the latest numbers from the town. As of Wednesday, May 20, the case count stood at 291. Thirty people have died, and 87 residents have recovered.

On Wednesday, the town held a mask distribution event for residents ages 60 and over and medically fragile people. Masks were distributed three per person and up to nine per car at Reading High School.

Reading will hold a virtual Memorial Day commemoration on RCTV. The town has also asked residents to decorate their doors in a patriotic manner and share a photo to the town's Facebook page.
