Resident Named to Winter Hill Bank Board of Directors

George F. McLean, of North Reading, has been named to the Board of Directors at . The announcement was recently made at the bank’s annual meeting by Sandra L. McGoldrick, President and CEO. Mr. McLean served as the Police Chief of the Somerville Police Department from 2001 to 2005, and is currently an independent public safety professional.

According to Mrs. McGoldrick, “We are proud to have George Mclean join our board. He has a long and proud record of public service that is consistent with the bank’s commitment to being an active member of the communities we serve. As a resident of North Reading, his insight will make a meaningful contribution to our team and our customers.”

A former Unites States Marine and Vietnam veteran, Mr. McLean holds a Master of Science degree in public affairs and has received specialized training at Harvard Law School, Babson College, and the FBI National Academy at Quantico, VA. He lives in North Reading with his wife, Pamela.

Mclean is affiliated with the International Association of Police Chiefs, the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, and the Police Executive Research Forum. He has served on numerous boards of directors, and as a member of many civic and community organizations in the Somerville area.

His various award’s and citations include being a two-time recipient of the Somerville Police Department’s Honorable Service Medal, the Somerville Police.  

Department Officer of the Year Award, and the Kiwanian of Year for outstanding service to the club and the community. He has also received citations and letters of commendation from the Mayor of Somerville, the Somerville Board of Aldermen, and the American Legion.
