Teenager Held in Protective Custody for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.
Monday, Jan. 23
- At 7:20 a.m., an officer reported a motor vehicle accident at . A North Reading resident backed into a cruiser, police said.
- At 2:34 p.m., a Junction Road resident reported that she has been receiving phone calls from someone telling her that she has won a large sum of money. She believes that the calls are a scam. Police told her that she could trap the call and advised her to call them if anyone came to her house.
- At 8:37 p.m., an 18-year-old resident was pulled over on Central Street and held in protective custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

- At 5:15 p.m., a Dodge Road resident reported that his ladder and possibly a UPS package were stolen from his home Monday.
- At 6:09 p.m., several unknown callers reported that a deer was hit on Parsonage Lane.
