Valentine's Profile: Kevin and Jamie Moschella

Find out how this couple met, and why they are in love.

Residents Kevin and Jamie Moschella met at when they were juniors. After 10 years of friendship, they finally became a couple. 

The First Date

For their first date, Kevin took Jamie to the Brookstone Restaurant in Derry, New Hampshire. After dinner, they played Scrabble and watched a movie together.

The Engagement

A bit more than a year passed before Kevin asked Jamie if she would spend the rest of her life with him.

"It was a surprise to me," Jamie said. "I knew we would eventually get engaged and get married, but I was not expecting Kevin to ask me so quickly."

Here's the story. They went to Portland, Maine during Valentine's weekend in 2010. After enjoying dinner together, they were walking back to their hotel when Kevin got down on one knee and asked Jamie to be his wife. Of course, she said, "Yes!"

Kevin had asked her parents and two sisters the weekend prior, so Jamie was the last person in her family to get the news.

"So of course I made my family wait a bit before I told them-- and they called constantly over the weekend," she said.

The Wedding

The couple got married that summer on the fourth of July at the .

"We had all our friends and family there, a nice breeze coming off the water, a beautiful sunset, a rainbow, and fireworks (no exaggeration)," Kevin said. "We wrote our own vows, had some great food, and danced the night away. The day went by so fast and was a blur at times but one we'll never forget." 

Their Life Together

Kevin has a six-year-old son Aiden, from a previous marriage, who Jamie thinks of as her own. They also share a dog, two cats and a fish.

It's easy to see the love between Kevin and Jamie just by talking to them. Jamie loves Kevin's patience, easygoing personality and "the fact that he puts up with me," she said.

"I love Jamie for so many reasons," Kevin said. "She's caring, compassionate, and likes to clean. She's a great mother, lots of fun, my best friend, passionate, and someone I love just spending time with whether its lying around watching football or being knocked off a white water rafting boat by her mean cross check."
