North Reading Male Summonsed for Possession of Class A Substance

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, May 25

  • At 3:18 p.m., a caller reported that a driver was operating a dirt bike at a high rate of speed on the sidewalk of Angel Road and that it was an ongoing issue. An officer reported that the issue was resolved.
  • At 5:22 p.m., a caller reported a man screaming and yelling, and pounding on the door of a house on Algonquin Road. Police spoke with the man and advised him of penalties for destructive actions. The homeowner on Algonquin Road reported damage to his front door.

Saturday, May 26

  • At 12:06 a.m., a caller reported two kids laying in the road on Marblehead Street. Police checked the area, but the kids were gone when they arrived.
  • At 1:38 a.m., a Kings Row resident reported that someone rang her doorbell, but no one was around when police arrived.
  • At 3:47 a.m., a Central Street resident reported that someone was making threats to him over the phone. Police checked the area, but did not see anything suspicious.
  • At 2:01 p.m., a caller reported that a man may be entering the woods near Lowell Road with a bow and arrow. 
  • At 2:39 p.m., a 26-year-old Salisbury man was summonsed for assault and battery on Main Street.
  • At 6:32 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Elm Street. One vehicle was towed from the scene.
  • At 9:18 p.m., a caller reported possible fireworks near Shady Hill Drive. Police checked the area, but it was quiet.

Sunday, May 27

  • At 12:49 p.m., a caller reported harassing phone calls. Police spoke to the person making the harassing phone calls and advised them to stop.
  • At 12:53 p.m., a caller reported a house fire on Flint Street
  • At 1:00 p.m., a caller reported two children locked in a vehicle on Haverhill Street. Police were able to open the doors.
  • At 3:41 p.m., a caller reported a minor car accident on Park Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 9:03 p.m., a caller reported hearing fireworks in the area of Duane Drive. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.

Monday, May 28

  • At 8:46 p.m., a caller reported a large turtle on the tennis courts at . Police removed the turtle.
  • At 10:26 a.m., a caller reported that her son was supposed to be riding his bike in the Memorial Day Parade, but she found his bike on the Common. Police were able to locate the boy who was walking in the parade with the Cub Scouts, but without his bike.
  • At 4:53 p.m., a caller reported that a car hit a light post in the parking lot of the . Police found the driver of the car and he said he would go back to the Main Street restaurant and pay for the damages.
  • At 6:58 p.m., a Hawthorne Terrace resident reported ATV's and a ditrbike stolen. The homeowner was able to find four of the five missing bikes near Benvento's.
  • At 7:21 p.m., a Peabody Court resident reported that a foul ball from the baseball field broke her storm door window. The baseball coach said that he would pay for the window.
  • At 9:23 p.m., a caller reported hearing fireworks or gunshots near the Middleton town line. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.
  • At 10:36 p.m., a caller reported that they could not wake their son. He was taken to the hospital. The 34-year-old North Reading male was summonsed for possession of a class A substance.
