Why Did Gio's Famous Pizza Change Names?

opened last November. The pizza shop is now called Mike's Famous Pizza.

The name changed because owner Mike Panousos did not know that the name Gio's was trademarked. 

"I was trying to keep the name in the family because my family owns Giovannis and I worked there for most of my life and wanted people to know there was a connection," Panousos said. "So instead of getting involved, it was easier to change the name. The name change means nothing, same phone number, same great menu, great service and of course the same owner."
