Will Proposed New Middle/High School Have Air-Conditioning?

According to the Secondary Schools Building Committee, with an efficient HVAC system, they will be able to condition the air of the buildings and hope to air condition certain areas in the new high/middle school, including administrative areas, technology classrooms, media/library and classrooms where summer classes are held.
A common air conditioning system includes a condenser and fan unit with refrigerant, and will cost more than HVAC equipment. Using an HVAC system and strategically positioning windows will reduce operational costs. Both options will be considered by the SSBC.

"The final determination of the areas that will have conditioned air verses air conditioning will be discussed by the board with the cost of the project in mind. We want the schools to be comfortable but not go overboard in doing so," said SSBC member Janene Imbriano.
