5 Things: Adams Park Renovations Meeting; Swans Back at Boston Common

Romeo and Juliet, the swans at the Boston Common Lagoon will be back today.

 

  1. Tonight is a public meeting about the coming renovations to Adams Park. Free appetizers from Shanti Restaurant will be given out at 6:15 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Several drawings of what the park could look like will be shown. Roslindale Community Center.
  2. Today Boston’s favorite swans, Romeo and Juliet, will be brought back to the Boston Public Garden Lagoon for the 2013 spring and summer season. This is the 25th year that the swans have returned to the Lagoon. Romeo and Juliet spend their winter at the Franklin Park Zoo. The celebration will begin with a children’s parade around the Public Garden Lagoon, led by a brass band. Four Seasons Hotel Boston will provide refreshments and activities for children. 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  3. Also tonight join Roslindale Green and Clean when they maintain the library's garden beds at 4246 Washington St. You'll brighten the community and earn an ice cream cone at Jimmies. 6:30-7:30 p.m.

  5. On Friday, the Roslindale Day Parade Committee annual Awards Dinner on will be at the St. Nectarios Church. Tickets $20 purchased at door. The evening will feature the 4th annual Talent Contest for cash prizes and a chance to be honored on the Committee's special float in the parade.
