5 Things: Practice English and Spanish; Farmers' Market Wants Volunteers

Applications are due May 24 for the Associates of the Boston Public Library's Children's Writer-in-Residence Program.

 

  1. Tonight practice your English in an informal, enjoyable setting at the Roslindale Library. Please call in advance to verify that this event has not been rescheduled or cancelled. Free. 6-7 p.m. 617-323-2343
  2. The Roslindale Village Farmers' Market is looking for volunteers, including a graphic artist.
  3. Applications are due May 24 for the Associates of the Boston Public Library's Children's Writer-in-Residence Program. The program benefits include a $20,000 stipend and an office at the Central Library in Copley Square.
  4. The Museum of Fine Arts will hold a Memorial Day Community Weekend with three free days of art and family fun at the Museum of Fine Arts. 
  5. Do you want to enter college but need financial assistance? In addition to offering financial assistance, the Alray Scholars Program assigns each recipient a dedicated mentor. Must be graduates of a BPS high school, charter school, the METCO program, or have received a GED.
