5 Things: Roslindale Food Pantry Re-Opening; Library Book Sale Days
On Wednesday is Parkway Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading sign-ups at Billings Field.
- Tonight is Roslindale Open Mic at the Roslindale Congregational Church starting at 7 p.m. 25 Cummins Highway.
- If you missed it -- the Roslindale Food Pantry is re-opening on May 18.
- This week is the Roslindale Branch Library Book Sale starting on Wednesday with the Friends Members Reception Preview Sale. 6-8 p.m. On Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., along with the used book sale, there will yarn and craft books also for sale, and refreshments, from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be modern bluegrass band More Smarter playing. There will be a special discount given to teachers. 4246 Washington St.
- On Wednesday is Parkway Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading sign-ups at Billings Field in West Roxbury. Boys and girls from ages 7-15 as of July 31, 2013 are eligible to join Parkway Pop Warner Football and Cheer from West Roxbury, Roslindale, Hyde Park, and Jamaica Plain. This program is a great way to experience the game of football or the sport of cheerleading. Kids experience working together as a team and learn discipline. No tryouts required. 6 p.m. Stop by, they'll probably be grilling.
- A part of the Roslindale Branch Library Book Sale on Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will be Seniors Discount Day with refreshments. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will also be yarn and books for sale.
