- Come make music together with your neighbors on Friday evenings at Select Cafe (every Friday except the first Friday of the month). Bring your enjoyment of listening, or an instrument with an ability to play, and enjoy music with local folks. The schedule is as follows - 2nd Friday - Boston Public Quartet with musiConnects; 3rd Friday - Creek River String Band; 4th Friday - Old-Time/Bluegrass Jam; 5th Friday - special guest. - On Saturday is Community Kitchen at the Roslindale Community Center. Community Kitchen is a gathering of folks interested in cooking together. Options are: Bring your recipe, ingredients, and prep utensils and cook with others; or bring just your hands and $20 (to cover costs of those who bring the ingredients) and help chop, prep, and cook together. All food is split up at the end of our time together for everyone to take home something of everything. Bring containers with you. CKs are happening all over the country. The Roslindale Community Kitchen will continue as a monthly event. All are welcome as participants. If you’d like to be on the Community Kitchen email list, contact: ck@greeningrozzie.org. 2-4 p.m.
- The External Advisory Committee on School Choice has extended its work to recommend an option through January, according to a press release from the city. The committee is working on improving the student assignment system for Boston Public Schools.
- Today the Red Sox will transform Fenway Park into a winter wonderland at the Red Sox Holiday Bash, a free, open-to-public holiday festival. Children and families of all ages are invited to experience the magic of the holiday season through an interactive Winter Village, complete with a trackless train, moon bounce and a decked out Christmas tree. Appearances by Red Sox players and legends; Access to exclusive areas of the ballpark, including the home clubhouse; Debut of the "Fenway Park Winter Light Show," an LED musical performance on; the Green Monster at 5:45, 6:45, & 7:45 p.m. – designed by Atlas, Inc.; Fenway Park winter menu items; Opportunity to get a photo with a background of the field and Fenway Park façade. The event is open to the public. Please RSVP by visiting redsox.com/holidays and clicking Yes. Start at 5 p.m.
