Man Arrested for Prescription Pills and Warrant in Roslindale

Boston Police arrested a man in Roslindale for possession of prescription drugs and a warrant.

On May 13, around 3:21 p.m., John J. MacKenzie, listed as homeless, was arrested for an outstanding default warrant out of Quincy District Court for possession with intent to distribute a class C drug; and charged with possession of a class C drug, according to a Boston Police report.

Police approached an individual outside of the the CVS Pharmacy known to them for repeat drug arrests, and the suspect was with the other man. Police ran a background check on both men and learned the suspect, MacKenzie, had an outstanding arrest warrant for him. 

During booking, an officer allegedly found seven blue pills wrapped in tinfoil in the suspect's pocket, according to a Boston Police report. The pills were Xanax, and the suspect did not have a prescription for them.
