Excessive Heat Warning: Salem To Open Cooling Centers, Fire Truck Hose

Check out how to cool off in Salem with temperatures expected to near 100 degrees this week.

SALEM, MA — With temperatures expected to challenge 100 degrees during this week's heat wave Salem will open a cooling center and have other activities to provide some relief for those in need.

The Mayor Jean Levesque Community Life Center at 401 Bridge Street will be Tuesday through Thursday for those in need of air conditioning.

The CLC will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

The Salem Fire Department will also be at Palmer Cove Park on Wednesday at 1 p.m. to turn on the fire hoses and spray down any kids and families who want to cool down.
