Flash Flood Warning Issued, Road Flooding Reported

Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly on the North Shore on Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Salem and much of the North Shore until 8 a.m. on Thursday because another round of heavy rain was moving in.

Just before 6 a.m., the National Weather Service said heavy rain was again falling on the North Shore and “flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.”

The flooding is “potentially life-threatening” and will affects streets and underpasses. Drivers should not drive through flooded roads.

In Salem, the bypass road was flooded and closed for a time. Many other streets had deep puddles and were flooded in spots.
