Free Parking All Weekend in Salem
The first weekend of the holiday shopping season will feature free parking for parking garages and most meters and lots in downtown Salem.

Shoppers will find plenty of free parking in downtown Salem this weekend.
Mayor Kimberley Driscoll announced that parking in Salem will be free on Saturday, Nov. 29 in both city parking garages and along Washington, Front and Essex streets.
On Sunday, Nov. 30 all parking will be free, including at all meters, in both the Museum Place and South Harbor parking garages and in all city parking lots.

The free parking is part of an effort to encourage Salem residents to “Shop Local First” this holiday season, according to Driscoll.
“These are some of the busiest shopping days of the year,” said Driscoll in her announcement. “Hopefully, by taking this step we can help inspire more Salem residents to come downtown and discover all the great retail shopping opportunities available at our independent businesses and shops.”
