Historic Preservation Takes Center Stage In Salem

A Historic House Resource Expo is set for Sept. 6 at Salem High School.

SALEM, MA — A city known around the world for its storied past will exhibit ways to maintain that history into the future as part of the first Historic House Resource Expo next month.

Historic Salem, Inc. is hosting the Annual Preservation Awards and the Expo on Sept. 6 at Salem High School.

The event, which is open to the public, will run from 9 a.m .to 12 p.m.

The Preservation Awards will recognize high-quality renovation and preservation of residential or commercial properties in Salem. The Awards will also recognize notable contributions by preservation advocates and community leaders.

The Historic House Resource Expo will feature providers of products and services needed by homeowners in historic Salem and the North Shore area.

This event is open to homeowners who are looking for information and resources to help them with home improvement and restoration projects.

Architects, designers, carpenters, landscapers, roofers, painters and other professionals are scheduled to participate and share their expertise with attendees.

Some of this year's Expo participants include Window Woman of New England, Pitman & Wardley Associates, Vestige Carpentry, Nolasco Home Improvement, Murray Masonry & More, NG Painting & General Services, Shards Studio and Architectural Conservator and Author Lee McColgan.
