Hypodermic Needles Found and Man in SUV Flashes Gun

The following is an excerpt from the  Wednesday and Thursday police log. Police disposed of more hypodermic needles -
- At 4:44 p.m. Wednesday, police retrieved four hypodermic needles from Proctor and Putnam streets.Â
- Police took a report of larceny on Highland Avenue at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday.
- At 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to a Loring Avenue address for a person banging on the door. The resident recognized the person at the door and said they were yelling about a Nintendo game and cord the person's boyfriend had borrowed. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.
- At 6:41 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a Highland Avenue address after a resident reported hearing a loud bang and then finding a storm door smashed.
- At 7:27 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a report of a fight on Barton Street. When police arrived, they found one man was bleeding and another man running away. The two knew each other prior to the fight. The man who was bleeding told police the other man demanded his wallet and then when he said no, he beat him up.
- At 7:38 p.m. Wednesday, Walmart reported shoplifting in their store. One person was issued a summons for shoplifting.Â
- At 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to Bridge Street for a report of a sexual assault on a child. Police are investigating the incident.
- At 8:02 p.m. Wednesday, juveniles were seen climbing billboards on Highland Avenue.
- Wednesday at 9:03 p.m., officers clearing another incident on Lafayette Street saw a car speed past them and then heard a car behind the speeding car honking. The honking car stopped and told police the man in the speeding car had pulled a gun on him. Police caught up with the speeding car on Dow Street and approached with guns drawn, according to the police log. Police found a black BB gun in the car. Police arrested Mohamed M. Omar, 25, 38 Salem St., Salem, and charged him with assault by dangerous weapon and driving after license suspension.Â
- At 11:49 p.m. Wednesday, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Canal Street. One person was cited.
- A resident of Jefferson Avenue reported at 5:28 a.m. Thursday that their car was broken into overnight.
- At 8:55 a.m. Thursday, police were called to Lynde Street for a man passed out on the sidewalk. The man was intoxicated, but able to walk away on his own, police said.
- Police responded to Lafayette Street at 10:41 a.m. Thursday for a report of a swastika drawn on a wall with marker in a common hallway of a building. Residents of the building said it was not the first time it had happened. A restaurant in the building also reported two swastikas in the bathroom. Building management said they would address security in the building.Â
- Thursday at 11:46 a.m. a person on Forrester Street reported someone screaming. Police could not locate the source.Â
- A resident of Loring Hills Avenue reported a car was broken into and their wallet a stolen from the car. The person told police his ATM card was breached and $600 was taken from his account. The bank told the man he would not be responsible for the money if he filed a police report.
- At 1:14 p.m. Thursday, police were called to Palmer Street for a man drinking in the park. The man was placed into protective custody.
- At 2:28 p.m. Thursday, police pulled over a car that was near the Dominion Power Plant gate and seemed suspicious, according to the police log. Police found a "green vegetable matter" they believed to be marijuana. The marijuana was less than one ounce. Police also found a folding knife that exceeded the length allowed in the city. The man was issued a citation.
Also on Wednesday and Thursday:
- Amanda Irene Bontos, 22, 64 Broad St., was arrested and charged with three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
- Valdei P. Dacruz, 35 , 193 Federal St., was arrested and charged with driving without a license and failure to have vehicle inspected.
