Man Refuses to Pay Train Fare, Spits at Conductor

One of the first Boston-bound trains of the Thursday morning commute was delayed because of an unruly Salem man on the train.

A man that allegedly caused a disturbance on a MBTA commuter rail train at the start of the Thursday morning commute now faces charges.

Police were called to the Salem train station on Bridge Street at 5:50 a.m. Thursday for a man causing a disturbance on a train. He allegedly spit on a conductor and refused to pay the fare.

The man was located on the platform and IDed by a train conductor, according to police.

Luis R. Ciriazo Jr., 19, of 16 Porter St. was charged with being a disorderly person.

The MBTA said the “ unruly passenger” delayed train 102, which left Rockport at 5:05 a.m. bound for Boston, by about 10-15 minutes.
