New Speakeasy-Style Bar 'Hallowed Ground' To Open In Salem
The cocktail bar was set to open Tuesday night in the former Opus Underground location on Washington Street.

SALEM, MA — A new cocktail bar opening in Salem on Tuesday aims to take customers back to another place and time while doing it underground.
Hallowed Ground was set to open at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the former Opus Underground location at 87 Washington Street. Once at the address, those looking for the spot are advised to "follow the signs underground."
Billed as "the place you want to both start and end the night," a spokesperson from the Serenitee Restaurant Group told Patch that Hallowed Ground is "all about cocktails" but those bar patrons will be able to order food from the sister restaurant Dire Wolf Tavern in the same building.
