North Shore, Greater Boston Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The line of storms could include pea-sized hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour.

SALEM, MA — A line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing 60 mile-per-hour winds and pea-sized hail were set to move through parts of the North Shore and Greater Boston on Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the North Shore up to Beverly and Gloucester, the City of Boston out to Route 128 in Woburn and Waltham, and south to Norfolk and Scituate.

Severe storms were expected to move through Massachusetts through the rest of the afternoon and early evening on Friday before weekend clearing.
