Rough Seas Cancel Salem Ferry Service Friday Night
Officials said conditions will be re-evaluated Saturday morning to determine any further schedule changes.

SALEM, MA — Rough ocean travel from a large storm circulating in the Atlantic Ocean canceled Salem Ferry service to and from Boston late in the day on Friday.
Officials said that due to "deteriorating sea conditions" the 7 p.m. departure of the Salem Ferry from Salem to Boston, and the 8:30 p.m. return trip from Boston to Salem, were canceled on Friday night.
"Conditions will be re-evaluated in the a.m. to determine when service will resume," officials said.

The cancellations come as the storm is producing a Rip Current Warning along the coast of Massachusetts and a High Surf Advisory along Cape Cod and Nantucket through Saturday night.
Forecasts are for large breaking waves of 4 to 9 feet in the surf zone along Barnstable and Nantucket counties.
