Salem Offers Parking Ticket Amnesty For Food Donations
The annual "Peas for Fees" program will waive $30 in parking ticket violations for those who donate two cans of food.

SALEM, MA — Drivers who may have overstayed a parking meter or picked up another parking violation over the course of the past year can get those fees waived with the donation of canned food goods during December.
The annual "Peas for Fees" program will waive up to $30 in parking violation fees in exchange for the donation of two canned goods through Dec. 23.
All food will go to local Salem food pantries.

Donations can be made to the City Collector's Office at Salem City Hall. City Hall is open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
The "Peas for Fees" program has become an annual tradition in Salem. This amnesty program will once again give those who owe late fees an incentive to pay their tickets while also providing additional food supplies to needy food pantries.
