Salem Snow Emergency Parking Ban Starts Saturday Night
The ban will be for all locations throughout the city - including the downtown district.

SALEM, MA — Salem has imposed a snow emergency parking ban beginning at 11 p.m. on Saturday ahead of the impending rain, wind and snowstorm.
The ban will be citywide and will include the downtown district.
Vehicles must be completely removed from the street or it is subject to being ticketed or towed.

Snow rates will go into effect in the Museum Place and South Harbor Garages at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Residents who park in either garage prior to this time will be charged at the regular hourly rate for the duration that the vehicle is in the garage, not the snow rate.

The city asks residents for assistance in shoveling out catch basins and fire hydrants near their homes. Property owners must clear snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property.
