Salem Students To Experience Financial Reality Simulation

The Reality Fair is meant to equip students with tools to manage their finances as adults.

SALEM, MA – This Wednesday, Salem Public School seniors will participate in a financial Reality Fair, a simulation of the financial obstacles people face as adults.

Students will learn everything from managing a budget to using a credit card wisely. They will be provided with different occupational scenario that describes their lives at age 25. Students will complete a one-month spending plan by visiting various booths in which they interact with adult volunteers from the business, non-profit, and public sectors to learn about the costs of living and the financial decisions they will make when they are adults.

"Our goal is to make our students aware of what lies ahead for expenses as adults and to help them make wise decisions that will positively affect their future," said Andrew Wulf, Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning at Salem High School.
