Scam Calls Coming From Salem State Number
Salem State Police are investigating what appear to be scam telemarketing calls.

Salem, MA - The Salem State University Police have received a number of reports from local residents receiving calls on their home phones from a Salem State number.
The university police are advising residents that this is a scam call.
The call appears to be coming from 978-542-3658, which is an unassigned number.

University police stated that this is a spoofed call and appears to be a telemarketing scam. Most people are reporting this call as a missed call in their caller ID logs, but some have reported a telemarketer attempting to sell aluminum siding.
University police apologized for the inconvenience and said they will continue to investigate.
