Second Round of Curbside Leaf Collection Planned for This Week in Salem
With most of the leaves now off the trees, there will be curbside leaf and yard waste collection in Salem all week.

The next to last chance to put leaves and other yard waste out at the curb in Salem is coming up this week.
The Salem Trash and Recycling Department said another round of curbside yard waste pickup will start on Monday, Nov. 17 and run through Friday, Nov. 21. The first round of curbside yard waste collection happened back on Oct. 20-24.
The final yard waste pick-up in Salem for 2014 will happen during the week of Dec. 1.

City officials said residents should place leaves and grass clippings in brown paper yard waste bags or uncovered garbage cans curbside on the same day as the regular trash pickup.
The only items that will be accepted are lawn clippings, leaves, brush, plants and bundled branches that are no longer than four feet or wider than four inches.

Tree stumps and logs will not be accepted.
In addition to curbside collection, residents with proper identification can always drop off yard waste at the transfer Station at 9 Swampscott Road from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
